leveraging reports to build legislative support

Massachusetts Convention Center Authority

After nearly a decade of success, the MA Convention Center Authority (MCCA) proposed expansion of the facility to draw a wider array of conventions.

Denterlein worked with the MCCA team to develop a series of tools, community relations activities and data analysis all designed to show that past investment in the Convention Center yielded positive economic results for the Commonwealth, had positive impacts on the nearby community and supported the positioning of Massachusetts across the country (resulting in a multiplier effect in terms of tourism and economic investment).

Using a 10-year report on the impact of MCCA’s activities, a Community Advisory group, routine promotion of major conventions and leadership positioning for the MCCA executive director, Denterlein was able to help the MCCA earn support for legislation supporting continued investment.
