Though an internationally recognized 5-star hotel chain, the Mandarin Oriental did not have significant brand awareness in the Boston area when it was first announced as the flagship hotel of a prominent Boylston Street development. Through the years, Denterlein supported Mandarin’s team in all aspects of the marketing communications for the launch of the hotel and its amenities, assisted with internal staff transitions, and promoted continued local and national visibility for the hotel brand.
Denterlein underscored the unique elements associated with the Mandarin brand, like cultural sensibility, unparalleled commitment to customer service, outstanding food and beverage, unique spa, in all messaging surrounding the grand opening. We worked closely with the Mandarin’s general manager and marketing team to develop a series of events that highlighted hotel amenities with target audiences. Denterlein provided dedicated staff support during internal transitions, assisted the hiring team through personalized outreach with key Boston players, and facilitated continued leadership positioning.
Denterlein secured coverage from all major news outlets and attendance from key elected officials during the launch of the hotel. We have facilitated prominent visibility of the brand in the local business and civic communities and strengthened senior leadership’s relationships with key members of Boston’s business and hospitality circles. Mandarin Oriental is now a successful and prominent brand in the competitive Boston hospitality market.
