Challenge

Following completion of the Big Dig, the Artery Business Committee transformed itself into A Better City, expanding its mission to focus on issues of transportation, public realm, and sustainability in the Greater Boston area.

Approach

Denterlein positioned ABC as a convener, able to bring change through its leadership, coalitions and reports. Denterlein boosted ABC’s voice in the media, showcasing its informed and thoughtful positioning on the important issues of the day.

Results

Denterlein has consistently placed ABC’s leadership in major news stories, including print, TV and radio, making the organization a go-to source on transportation issues. In one example, Denterlein secured an op-ed in the Boston Globe on creating a sustainable source of revenue for the transportation system, which was cited by then-Governor Patrick that same morning in his speech before the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce.
